Draftsperson

  • Responsibilities Review salesperson and design team notes to make sure there is a clear understanding of the scope of work Make sure we have the matterport for site evaluation Attend Site evaluations of all new projects, responsible for gathering existing measurements and mechanical information, bring 2D floor plans from outside sources when applicable. Create drawings outlined below in Chief Architect Send drawings to cabinet, countertop & closet companies to obtain pricing Create presentation materials for all proposals using google slides Build new client folder in G-suite from template & copy over Salesperson notes from Matterport
    Log hours for design team time tracking & payroll
    Create framework for sold jobs in BuilderTrend & enter selections & upload drawings
    Submit orders for countertops and closets Drafting 2D & 3D renderings through Chief Architect
    Existing Conditions
    Generate drawings for new Schematic Layouts, collaborate with salesperson & design team
    Generate new Mechanical Layouts
    Generate new specialty drawings as needed:
    a) Flooring
    b) Tile
    c) Built Ins / Trim
    d) Cabinetry
    Create drawings for Tradewalks (Demo, Framing, Foundation, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Flooring & Paint)
    Create drawings for Final Construction Documents
  • General Expectations
    40 hours per week, generally 8.30-5, M-F but we are flexible
    Attend weekly Design Team Meetings and Quarterly Company Meetings
    Arrive to all appointments on time and prepared to start
    Maintain company equipment and supplies
    Maintain a clean and organized work space
    We participate in home shows, seminars, open houses at a clients, etc. and it is expected that you participate in these events – sometimes these are in the evenings or weekends
    Bailey Remodeling invests in training on a continual basis. We encourage the pursuit of continuing education to support your professional growth Promptly return phone calls (no more than 24 hours)
    We will perform reviews after 30 days, 90 days and 6 months after hiring to check in
  • Salary: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00
  • Gas Reimbursement
    Expected to use personal vehicle for all transportation of appointments
    Includes Gas reimbursement
  • Health Insurance Available (if eligible) After 90 Days
    BRC will cover up to $450 (whichever is higher) per month towards health insurance
  • HSA (if eligible) After 90 Days
    BRC matches the first $400 contributed annually into the HSA
  • Vacation and Sick Time:
    10 paid personal days per year to be used to cover vacation or illness. This maybe
    prorated depending on start date. Additional PTO days accrued through years of service Paid time off has to be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance on a first come first serve basis
    Unused paid vacation & sick time does not carry over from year to year
    Additional Bereavement time off and pay will be handled on a case by case basis

Project Manager

The PM / Lead Carpenter is responsible for managing generally 2 remodeling projects at a time while also performing the general carpentry tasks needed to complete the job.

  • Project Management Responsibilities
    Work with sub-contractors to coordinate work scope and project schedules
    Communicate with customers about the progress of the project, change order requests, schedule updates and deadlines through weekly meetings.
    Know and understand all plans and specs for jobs that you are responsible for.
    Create change orders and communicate changes to sub-contractors through website and phone calls.
    Oversee purchasing and ordering construction materials. This includes materials that have been selected by homeowners along with any other materials like lumber packages, trim packages and all other misc. trips to lumber yard or box stores. This should be done in an organized and thought out process as to minimize the trips to the store.
    Tracking job costs to ensure projects budgets are met
    Make sure the jobsites are clean, safe & organized
    Execute the zero punch process so that jobs end smoothly with minimal schedule slippage.
  • Skilled Carpentry & Labor Activities
    Trim Carpentry: Install baseboards, casing, crown molding, pre-hung doors & custom cabinetry
    Framing: Install framing in an unfinished basement, moving walls and installing beams
    Punch List Items: Hang bathroom accessories, door hardware, handrails…etc
    Clean up: Hang plastic to mask off construction areas and keep the jobsite clean everyday throughout the projects
    Demolition: Demo cabinetry, tile/misc. flooring, wall coverings…etc.
    Miscellaneous Labor
  • Position Requirements
    Extremely organized and process driven
    3 years of Carpentry Experience (Framing and/or Trim)
    Preferable some Construction Management Experience
    Clear Driving & Criminal Record with no DUI’s in last 5 years
    Pass a Drug Screening
    Competence in Google Drive and have the skills to learn our online project management system
  • Interpersonal Skills
    Able to schedule other for efficient completion of work even when not on site to visually supervise.
    Can effectively work through challenges with clients and coworkers
    Shows up daily with a positive attitude
    Handles themselves in a professional manner at all times
